London Fans Upset Robert Pattinson Didn’t Attend ‘Eclipse’ Premiere Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner also angered Twi-hards by not showing up

The other day marked the UK nationwide premiere of one of the hottest, most anticipated movies of this summer, the third installment in “The Twilight Saga,” based on the third book by Stephenie Meyer “Eclipse.” The entire cast and production staff were on the red carpet for the traditional photocall but the three main stars of the franchise were notably absent, which made fans very upset, People magazine says.

Like it happened back in the US, for the Los Angeles all-star premiere, fans camped outside the venue with many hours in advance, just to have a chance of seeing their idols – specifically Pattinson, who also happens to be British. Neither he nor the other two leads, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, showed up for the event, which left fans very disappointed and upset. When they got wind of what the stars were doing at the time of the premiere (presumably, Lautner was at home, taking out the trash), fans became even more outraged.

“Granted, this is the weekend Americans celebrate their victory over the British in the War for Independence, but is this any way to treat a former enemy? ‘Rob's British! He should be here with us,’ wailed one fan among the many who waited up to 36 hours for the arrivals of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at Thursday night's London premiere of Eclipse. Only snag: none of the three main stars made it to England for the big bow, reports the BBC,” People writes.

“‘We are absolutely gutted ... absolutely devastated,’ said one female fan, who admitted to tears. The trio apparently were previously committed. Showing up in their stead were, among others from the vampire flick (and box-office sensation), Nikki Reed, Alex Meraz, Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel and Ashley Greene. Also making his presence felt: Joe Jonas,” the magazine further says. Still, fans were very much disappointed and they made no secret of it, many of them wearing t-shirts that read “ROBbed” and making no attempt at hiding their tears and sad faces.

While Robert Pattinson has the best excuse for missing out on the London premiere (he was on the set of “Water for Elephants,” also starring Reese Whiterspoon), word on the street has it Stewart told one media outlet that she was not even invited to the premiere, for she would have come if she’d been asked to. At the same time, reports suggest Lautner was photographed outside him home, taking out the trash, which means he wasn’t “previously committed” either.
