Yesterday, quite a few online news avenues picked up on a fan manipulation (photoshopped image, basically) photo which appeared to be a set shot from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. The idea that such a photo could exist certainly had some fans in a tizzy because it would indeed be exciting if true.
However, to ensure that readers of this column aren't confused or misled, I'm posting it, along with information as to its creation so that there can be no doubt this is a phony.
Jump ahead to the 1:37 mark on the attached video. It's a clip from Across The Universe (a film which, coincidentally co-stars Joe Andesrson, a.k.a. "Alistair" from Breaking Dawn). Look familiar?
Well, that's because the photoshopper of this underwater kissing photo intended it to be that way. You can read all about the creation of the photo at her blog here.
It's a pretty convincing (and, shall we say, encouraging?) manipulation, to be sure, but it's absolutely fake. The only two Breaking Dawn images to have been officially released are the ones from Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the only parts of Brazil's honeymoon scene to have been captured by local fans and photographers were from the boat, the docks, and the beachfront/Honeymoon house. The waterfall sequence was rather guarded, and this is definitely not a "first-look" at that moment at all. Though, it does serve the great purpose of quelling impatient imaginations.
