Pamper Yourself At Home With Star-Worthy Spa Treatments (Rob Visited This Spa)

Bring the spa home for the holidays with these tips from the experts at celeb-fave getaways Mandarin Oriental and Prestige at the Palazzo.
First, make a few adjustments around the house to create a relaxing atmosphere in your home. Denise Vitiello, director of the spa at Mandarin Oriental in New York (Robert Pattinson and Kylie Minogue stay there!), suggests involving all of the senses.
Engage the sense of touch and throw on soft slippers or a pair of fluffy socks and a robe. “Whatever feels good and comfortable,” Vitiello tells UsMagazine.com.
Then create a soothing atmosphere to look at with dimmed lights and plenty of plants or flowers. “Cut flowers provide relaxing visual stimulation,” says Vitiello.
Breathe in a calming scent with the help of aromatherapy candles. Or mimic the smells of home-cooking by adding a few drops of rosemary oil to a small pot of boiling water. “Everyone associates scents with different things so choose whatever scent transports you to a relaxing state,” Vitiello explains to Us.
Put your phone on silent and listen to a relaxing playlist on your iPod. Consider ambient tunes or sounds from nature like trickling water.
Then sip on a comforting beverage like tea, hot cocoa, warm milk or wine.
Once the atmosphere is set, play up the traditional bath time with one of these variations offered at the Prestige at The Palazzo in Las Vegas:
Ciocclato Bath
Create a truly decadent experience with a sweet, chocolate-scented milk bath. Die-hard chocoholics can add an assortment of truffles and a chocolate martini on the side.
Phantom Bath
Play music from “The Phantom of the Opera” and light candles. Sprinkle rose petals into the tub, add rose-infused body oil, and serve Champagne and truffles.
Yellow Ducky Bath
Have fun in the tub by throwing in a rubber ducky and adding fruit punch-scented bubble bath. Set out a glass of chocolate milk and a plate of cookies for snack time.
